The employment landscape this week reveals a critical inflection point: companies are simultaneously cutting traditional roles while AI-related skills experience unprecedented demand. AI fluency has become the fastest-growing skill in U.S. job postings, with demand growing 7x in two years, according to a new McKinsey Global Institute report. Yet private sector employment contracted for the first time since summer, signaling a bifurcated job market where technical adaptability separates growing opportunities from vulnerable positions.

Anthropic Introduces Claude Opus 4.5 (Source)

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 4.5, its most advanced AI model yet—touted as the world’s best for coding, reasoning, agentic tasks, and computer use. The model surpasses all major competitors, including GPT-5 and Gemini 3, on SWE-Bench Verified and other real-world software engineering benchmarks. Testers report that Opus 4.5 “just gets it,” solving complex bugs and handling ambiguous scenarios with minimal guidance.

Opus 4.5 introduces faster reasoning, improved accuracy, and smarter agent control, performing exceptionally well across 7 of 8 programming languages on SWE-Bench Multilingual and scoring higher than human engineers on Anthropic’s internal take-home exam. It also demonstrates advanced creative reasoning—solving airline booking constraints by reinterpreting policy rules rather than failing within set limits.

Safety remains a core focus. Opus 4.5 is Anthropic’s most aligned model to date, significantly reducing risks from prompt injection and misuse. Developers gain more flexibility with a new “effort parameter” in the Claude API, allowing control over speed versus depth of reasoning. It achieves higher performance while using up to 76% fewer tokens than previous models.

The update also enhances Claude Code, Claude for Excel, Claude for Chrome, and multi-agent capabilities for enterprise users. With a 200K context window, advanced memory, and expanded API access at $5/$25 per million tokens, Opus 4.5 marks a major leap in AI-powered productivity, coding, and automation…solidifying Anthropic’s position at the frontier of intelligent, reliable AI systems.

3 Excel Views That Make Large Spreadsheets Easier

1. Freeze Panes + Focus Cell

Problem: Headers and labels disappear when scrolling through large sheets.

Use Freeze Panes. It Locks rows/columns so they stay visible while scrolling. Select cell below/right of what you want frozen → View tab → Freeze Panes

Focus Cell: Highlights your active cell's row and column. Turn on via View → Focus Cell (or Alt + W + E + F)

2. Split View

Problem: Need to see two distant parts of the same sheet simultaneously.

Use split view. Divides worksheet into separate scrollable panes (horizontal, vertical, or both). Select where you want the split → View tab → Split. It Creates 2 or 4 panes you can scroll independently

3. Watch Window

Problem: Tracking key cells across multiple sheets requires constant tab-switching.

  • Monitors specific cells in real-time across all sheets/workbooks

  • Formulas tab → Watch Window → Add Watch → Select cells

  • Shows values and formulas in a floating window while you work elsewhere

Private sector employment contracts as hiring slows

The ADP National Employment Report released November 25, 2025 revealed U.S. private employers shed an average of 13,500 jobs per week during the four weeks ending November 8. This marks a reversal from October's modest gains and suggests the labor market weakness that began mid-2025 is intensifying. The data, produced in collaboration with Stanford Digital Economy Lab, provides a real-time snapshot ahead of delayed official Bureau of Labor Statistics figures.

Compounding these concerns, continued unemployment claims rose to 1.974 million; the highest since November 2021…indicating that workers who lose jobs are taking significantly longer to find new positions. Average unemployment duration now stands at 24.5 weeks, the longest since 2017. This combination of reduced hiring and extended job searches creates urgency for workers to differentiate themselves in a competitive market.

Major employers accelerate AI-driven workforce restructuring

Two prominent corporate announcements this week underscore how AI is reshaping workforce strategy across industries:

  • McKinsey & Co. cut approximately 200 global tech jobs on November 26, with Bloomberg reporting the consulting giant is actively assessing additional functions that AI could automate over the next two years. This signals that even elite knowledge-work positions at top-tier professional services firms are not immune to automation pressures.

  • HP announced plans to eliminate 4,000-6,000 positions by fiscal 2028, representing roughly 10% of its 58,000-person workforce. CEO Enrique Lores cited AI-driven automation across product development, customer support, sales, and manufacturing as central to achieving $1 billion in annual savings. The restructuring highlights how hardware companies are deploying automation tools that absorb tasks from engineering processes to routine service interactions.

  • Separately, Novartis announced November 25 it will cut 550 jobs at its Swiss manufacturing facility by 2027, investing $26 million in automation. However, the pharma giant simultaneously plans 700 new U.S. positions and 80 jobs at a Swiss RNA production facility…demonstrating the geographic and skill-based reshuffling underway.

AI fluency emerges as the defining career skill

A McKinsey Global Institute analysis published November 25 in Fortune provides the clearest roadmap yet for navigating AI-era careers. While current AI could theoretically automate 57% of U.S. work hours, the report emphasizes this measures technical potential, not inevitable job losses.

The most actionable findings for professionals:

  • AI fluency is now the single fastest-growing skill demand in job postings

  • 70% of skills employers seek apply to both automatable and non-automatable work

  • Most resilient skills include interpersonal conflict resolution, design thinking, negotiation, coaching, and caring professions

  • Most vulnerable skills include routine accounting, basic programming, and standard document preparation

Black Friday week brings major certification discounts

For professionals seeking to upskill, November 24 through December 1 offers unusually steep discounts on industry-recognized credentials:

New opportunities emerge in AI and specialized sectors

The VA published its weekly "Hiring Veterans" compilation on November 24, featuring positions at RTX/Raytheon (calibration technicians, Patriot program roles), Tenova LLC (mission support, regional sales), and VA facilities nationwide including clinical, technical, and administrative roles. Applications are accepted through USAJobs.gov and individual employer portals.

In venture-backed growth, Google and Accel announced November 25 they will co-invest up to $2 million per startup in at least 10 early-stage Indian AI companies focused on entertainment, productivity, and coding applications. This follows Google's AI Futures Fund already backing 30+ companies and its $15 billion commitment for an Andhra Pradesh AI data center. These investments signal sustained demand for AI engineers, ML specialists, and product managers in the expanding AI ecosystem.

Additional funding rounds announced November 25, Including Zinit ($8 million for AI sourcing), CrisprBits ($3 million for biotech diagnostics), and Morphle Labs ($5 million for healthcare automation)…indicate continued startup hiring across AI, biotech, and health tech sectors.

Custom GPT That Writes Resumes Under 5 Minutes

Crafting a résumé shouldn’t feel like a full-time job. Yet most job seekers spend hours tweaking bullet points, reformatting sections, and rewriting summaries only to get rejected without explanation.

Even worse? Many turn to ChatGPT hoping it will “just write a résumé,” but the results are usually generic, robotic, and instantly ignored by recruiters.

You end up wasting even more time prompting, editing, and re-prompting and still don’t get interviews.

That’s why I built Impact CV GPT. A ChatGPT tool trained specifically on REUSME to help you Generate tailored, ATS-ready resumes in minutes. Quantified, recruiter-friendly, and built for the exact job you want. All in less than 5 minutes.
