RIP Resumes | Here is What to do instead

You no longer need to create elaborate resumes to land a job in 2025. Just a simple resume can do wonders.

Here is how:
Everything has changed.
- How recruiters find talent.
- How companies hire. (e.g., Increased use of AI and automation, focus on skills-based hiring)
- The skills that are in demand. (e.g., Data analysis, AI/ML, cloud computing, cybersecurity)


To me, getting a job in 2025 no longer necessitates a traditional resume; however, a simple RESUME template can do wonders.

You need the following...

1️⃣ Publicly showcase your skills:
Recruiters and employers look for public talent. This means you need to showcase your skills publicly. It could be anything from recording a small demo of a project you created to writing a blog post about your area of expertise. Share your work on platforms like GitHub, LinkedIn, or personal websites.


2️⃣ Network strategically:
Build relationships with people in your domain and with recruiters. Attend industry events (both online and offline), engage in relevant online communities, and connect with people on LinkedIn.


3️⃣ Stay relevant:
Stay on the cutting edge of the latest tools and research. Participate in online courses, attend workshops, and follow industry leaders to keep your skills sharp and knowledge up-to-date.


4️⃣ Build an online presence:
Be online - Grow at least one social media platform to let recruiters find you easily. (LinkedIn is great.) Optimize your profile with relevant keywords and share valuable content related to your field.


Once you have all of the above, you'll be well on your way to landing your dream job.
